THE RAFFLE TICKETS ARE IN!!!

The raffle tickets are in and that means its time to start selling. The tickets are $25.00 and the winner will receive a $10,000 prize. Everyone should be receiving their tickets in the next few days. To start out everyone was issued between 40-50 tickets, depending on location. If you need more tickets please let me know. You can sells tickets to anyone who is not a member of the team. If you have any questions about the raffle or raffle procedures please let me know.

Photos Hotdog Fundraiser
The Feburary Fundraiser will take place at Photos Hotdogs in Palatine. The deal is on whatever day we decide, 25% of the proceeds from that day will go to the team, if you mention the fundraiser when you order. I am thinking about a Friday so that AM could get all the teachers who usually go to lunch on Friday out there supporting us. My thought was the third Friday in February the 19th. Please let me know what your thoughts are on the date.

I have been thinking about it and I really want to get everyone involved in the event planning process so everyone feels like they are part of the team. The following are events we have discussed doing. I have listed who the event planner or point person or persons for the event will be, if you do not wish to be the point person on the event listed please let me know or switch with someone else. Additionally, if you are not listed as a point person or if you are and have an event idea please let me know. The goal is one event per month but some of these events are simple and we could defiantly do more. Additionally, I am going to assign people to be the point people on the raffle. I will of course we around to help with anything anyone needs and everyone is expected to participate if they can. Finally, just because you are the point person doesnt mean you have to do everything feel free to ask for help with anything. I hope you all think this is a good way to do this, I simply cannot plan everything, so I thought this would be a good way to get everyone involved and divide everything up.

50/50 Raffle Fundraiser

Hello A Teamers-

I hope you all have gotten a chance to look at the new blog. I wanted to let everyone know that we are thinking of putting together a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the team. If we can pull it off we stand to raise about $25,000 in addition to what everyone else raises. That would mean raising near $50,000 to battle breast cancer which would be awesome. Raffle tickets would be $50 and we would sell 1,000 of them. Therefore everyone would be responsible for selling about 83 tickets. We would sell tickets at all the fundraiser we have and then to friends and family as well. I am looking into getting a raffle license from the Village of Rosemont and my sister is looking into designing the tickets. Leave comments as to your thoughts about this idea. Finally, we have a new team member Drew Gravitts, we are now 12 strong and Nick Shey has gotten our biggest donation to date $500, great job Nick. Hope everyone is having a good week.

The A Team Beats Breast Cancer...Now Has A Blog!!

Hello A Team....

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!! As you know in 2010 the A Team will help beat breast cancer in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer...
I set up this blog so the team could check in and get info on events and team activities. There will also be info about the team's fundraising progress, training walks and other exciting A Team news. Please check the blog weekly for updates on events and activities. I will continue to send out emails, but the blog will be my primary source of communication with you. Additionally, if anyone else would like to post something on the blog just let me know. You guys can also leave comments below the postings, I will check these regularly.

T-Shirts
If anyone has names they would like on the shirt the deadline for submission is fast approaching. Please have all names to me by Friday January 8, 2009.

Team Meeting
I was thinking that having a team meeting would be a great way to kick off the new year and to really get the team's fundraising efforts started. Please leave a comment as to what day works best for you so we can get the meeting set up.

I am open to suggestions. Let me know if anyone has any good ideas.
